Four-Year Plans

Our main sample four-year plan is on our Guide page. These are some alternative plans based on common paths we see students take through the degree. We want to emphasize that these are sample degree plans and that every student has a different situation and different needs. We are happy to work with students individually to help them develop a degree plan best suited to them. Please see the Advising page for details about meeting with an advisor to map out courses.

Transfer Student Plans

We see many transfer students hoping to pursue AMEP with a wide variety of courses and transfer credits. The following plans are there as a guide for students who have transferred to UW-Madison after one year at another institution. These plans assume a transfer student has completed through multivariable calculus, the second semester of introductory physics and has completed some general education credits.

As stated before, these are only guides for students to reference. Many transfer students have credits or placement scores different from what these plans assume and that’s perfectly normal. We’re happy to advise students interested in AMEP and help develop a plan tailored to the student and their previous coursework.
